Terms of Use

1. Using Outnudge

These terms apply to the Outnudge iPhone app and website. “Outnudge,” “we,” and “us” refer to the provider of Outnudge. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

You must be at least 13, or meet any higher minimum age required by your local law. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms with you. Purchases also require the authorization required by Apple and applicable law.

Your App Store download is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and the license supplied with the app. Where no custom App Store license is supplied, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies. These terms do not reduce mandatory consumer rights or override Apple's applicable usage rules.

2. What the app provides

Outnudge supports outdoor walks, runs, hikes, and bike rides with GPS recording, daily quests, a curated catalog of route ideas, personal progress, local reminders, reflections, recovery prompts, and achievement sharing. Apple Health is optional. Plus provides additional statistics and weather checks where available; the purchase screen describes the benefits included in your plan.

Quests and recovery prompts are general suggestions based on your preferences and activity. They are not personalized medical advice or a supervised training program. XP, trail coins, streaks, and progress levels are motivational features with no monetary value, cash redemption, or promised real-world reward.

Features depend on your device, iOS version, permissions, and service availability. Maps, weather, and purchase verification may require an internet connection. Your mobile provider's charges may apply.

3. Outdoor safety and route information

You decide whether an outing is suitable for your ability, health, equipment, and current conditions. Follow local laws, access rules, closures, signs, and landowner restrictions. Stop using the screen whenever doing so would distract you from moving safely.

The Explore catalog contains route ideas, including a limited set of places around Islamabad. It is not a worldwide trail directory or turn-by-turn navigation service. A map preview or place match does not establish a verified, accessible, or safe trail. Listed distances, duration, elevation, and difficulty are estimates; conditions and access can change.

Weather and forecasts may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. Recently cached conditions are identified in the app. Check official local forecasts and warnings when planning your activity. Outnudge is not an emergency service, location-monitoring service, or a guarantee of safe conditions, and it does not summon help for you.

Outnudge is a general wellness tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent a medical condition. Seek qualified advice when appropriate before changing your activity, and stop if you feel unwell.

4. Recordings, Health, and reminders

GPS readings and calculated distance, pace, elevation, and duration can contain errors. Buildings, terrain, permission changes, battery limits, and interruptions can affect recording. Recovery checkpoints help recover an interrupted session but do not guarantee that every point is saved. Background GPS can increase battery use.

You control Apple Health permissions. Completed activities can be saved to Health with the data types you allow, and pending saves may be retried after access is granted. Making or restoring a Plus purchase does not back up or restore your activity history. Review important records before relying on them.

Reminders are local notifications. Delivery depends on your iPhone settings, including notification permissions and Focus. They are optional prompts, not critical alarms or a guaranteed subscription renewal notice.

5. Plus purchases and billing

Plans and payment

Outnudge Plus is optional. Plans may include monthly or yearly subscriptions and a Lifetime one-time purchase. Available plans, local prices, billing periods, included features, and any introductory offer are shown before you confirm a purchase. Apple charges the payment method associated with your Apple Account. RevenueCat helps verify the purchase and provide your Plus access.

Lifetime purchases

If offered, Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable purchase with no automatic renewal or scheduled expiration. It provides ongoing access to the purchased Plus features in the supported Outnudge app and service. It does not guarantee that the app, every device, or external services will remain supported or available for any person's lifetime. This does not reduce the paid-access commitments shown at purchase or your mandatory consumer rights. Lifetime purchases can be restored through Restore Purchases and do not need subscription cancellation.

Renewal and trials

Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Apple may charge for renewal within the 24 hours before the next subscription period begins. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next renewal, subject to the terms shown by Apple and local law.

A free or discounted trial is available only if offered and you are eligible. Unless you cancel in time, it converts to the paid plan and price shown at purchase. Apple advises canceling a trial at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused trial time may be lost when you purchase a subscription. Do not rely on an app reminder to manage this deadline.

Cancel, restore, or request a refund

• Manage or cancel: open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions and Outnudge. The in-app subscription management screen can also help. Apple's cancellation instructions provide current steps.
• Restore: use Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple Account associated with the original purchase. Restoration depends on Apple's records and the entitlement remaining valid.
• Refund: use Apple's refund request service. Eligibility and timing follow Apple's policies and your applicable consumer rights. A refund is not guaranteed merely because you stop using the app.

Deleting Outnudge does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation normally stops future renewals while access continues until the date Apple displays; trial access or refunds may work differently. If your subscription expires and you have no other valid Plus purchase, paid features become unavailable. Your local activity records are not deleted because your subscription ends. Subscription price changes follow Apple's notice and consent requirements.

6. Your data and shared content

You retain your rights in the personal content you create, including your reflection notes and activity records. Outnudge processes them to provide the features described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your personal activity history.

Your history is stored locally. Deleting the app or losing access to your device can remove it; Outnudge does not offer an account from which we can restore that history. Apple Health records and device backups are managed separately under your Apple settings.

You choose whether and where to share an achievement card. The built-in card omits the route and coordinates, but its activity totals and date are visible to the recipient. You are responsible for reviewing what you send and respecting other people's rights. The destination service's terms apply to content you share there.

7. Acceptable use and ownership

Use Outnudge lawfully. Do not bypass purchase controls, attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the app or its providers, introduce malicious code, or use the service to infringe someone else's rights. Restrictions on copying, modification, or reverse engineering apply only to the extent allowed by law and applicable open-source licenses.

Outnudge's software, branding, design, and original content belong to their respective rights holders. Your right to use the app is a limited license under these terms and the applicable App Store license, not a transfer of ownership. If you voluntarily send product suggestions, we may use them to improve Outnudge without owing compensation; this does not grant us rights to publish your private activity data.

8. Apple and other services

Apple Maps, WeatherKit, Apple Health, the App Store, RevenueCat, and services you use to share content operate under their own applicable terms. Their data, availability, and functionality can change. We do not control their operation, but this does not remove any responsibility we have under applicable law for the service we provide.

9. Availability and legal limits

We work to keep Outnudge useful and reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, or recovery of every lost record. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence where it cannot be excluded, or any other liability the law does not allow us to limit. Mandatory consumer guarantees, remedies, and refund rights remain in force.

10. Changes and ending use

We may update features for maintenance, security, compatibility, or product development. Material changes to paid services are subject to required notice and your applicable consumer rights. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use or a material breach of these terms, subject to applicable law.

You can stop using Outnudge at any time. Cancel any subscription separately through Apple. Provisions about ownership, unpaid obligations, and legal limits continue to apply where relevant after use ends.

If these terms change, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when required. Material changes will not remove rights you have already acquired under applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
