Privacy Policy
Outnudge is designed to help you go outside—not to build an advertising profile. This policy explains what the iPhone app and this website handle, why, and the choices you control.
Effective August 21, 2026 · Last updated August 21, 2026
1. The short version
Your recorded activities and reflections are stored locally on your device. We do not run an Outnudge account system or advertising network. Location, Apple Health, and notifications are optional and controlled through iOS permissions.
2. Information the app handles
Activity and route data
When you record an outing, Outnudge can process GPS coordinates, timestamps, altitude, accuracy, distance, duration, pace, elevation gain, activity type, and the route you chose. This data is used to record and display your activity, calculate your personal progress, and recover an interrupted recording.
Reflections and preferences
Your optional reflection, preferred activity, daily goal, favorites, reminder settings, progress, and onboarding choices are used to personalize the app on your device.
Approximate nearby context
If you grant location access, MapKit may use your location to rank nearby place and route ideas. Search and map requests are provided through Apple services and are subject to Apple’s privacy terms.
3. Apple Health
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Outnudge can write completed workouts, distance samples, and workout routes for the permissions you approve. It requests read access to workouts only to find a workout Outnudge previously saved and prevent a retry from creating a duplicate.
Outnudge does not use Health data for advertising, marketing, data brokerage, credit decisions, or any purpose unrelated to health and fitness. You can change Health permissions at any time in the Health app.
4. Notifications
If you enable reminders, Outnudge schedules local notifications on your device. Reminder choices remain on the device. You can disable them in Outnudge or iOS Settings.
5. Purchases
Outnudge uses RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlement status, offerings, purchases, and restoration. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase and entitlement information, app/device details, and diagnostics needed to provide those services. Apple processes App Store payments; Outnudge does not receive your full payment-card details.
RevenueCat’s handling of information is governed by its own privacy policy. We use purchase information only to provide and support Outnudge Plus.
6. This website
This website does not currently use account sign-in, advertising cookies, behavioral profiling, or a contact-form database. If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message so we can reply. Standard hosting logs may temporarily include IP address, request time, browser information, and requested pages for security and reliability.
7. Storage, disclosure, and retention
Local app data remains on your device unless you intentionally share it or sync a workout to Apple Health. We may disclose limited information to service providers named in this policy, when required by law, or to protect users and the service. We do not sell personal information.
Deleting the app generally removes its local container. Data already written to Apple Health must be managed in the Health app. Purchase records remain subject to Apple and RevenueCat retention requirements.
8. Children and international use
Outnudge is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires a higher minimum age for consent, use requires a parent or guardian where applicable. Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
9. Your choices
You can deny or revoke Location, Health, and Notification permissions; use the free app without purchasing Plus; manage subscriptions through Apple; remove local data by deleting the app; and contact us with a privacy question.
10. Contact and changes
Email privacy@outnudge.com with privacy questions. We may update this policy as the product changes. The effective date above will change when an update is material.
